Sectional Patching

Not all projects require complete reconstruction or an overlay. Sectional patching is often a reasonable solution to extend the life of your pavement

Full Depth Reclamation (FDR)

FDR involves taking the section requiring repair and pulverizing both the asphalt and its granular underlayment to produce a uniform, “stabilized base course” (SBC). FDR gives you a permanent fix (definitely not a “band aid”). Because it recycles existing material, it is considered one of the “greenest” techniques.

Mill & Fill

This consists of removing existing pavement with a milling machine to a depth of 1-2”, and then applying new asphalt mix.

Asphalt Removal & Replacement

Eventually, asphalt reaches the end of its life cycle. At that point the only realistic solution is to remove the existing pavement and replace it with new asphalt.

Say goodbye to poorly paved driveways, gravel/dirt areas, or failing asphalt. When you work with GPM, we take the stress out of any asphalt or paving project that you have at your business with a budget that works!

Asphalt Paving FAQs

What is the process of getting a paving quote with GPM for my Paso Robles location?

It’s easy. Simply contact us through our website form and tell us about your potential paving project. We’ll get in touch and arrange an onsite visit to accurately assess your project. Your quote will include the cost of the project and an accurate timeframe for completion.

How do you decide if asphalt or concrete works better?

Usually the type of project dictates whether we use asphalt or concrete. Asphalt is easier to install and usually costs less than concrete. It’s ideal for roads, parking lots, industrial properties, and multi-family or HOA units. However, concrete provides a stronger finished project than asphalt, so is often the best choice for heavy loads. Concrete is also preferred for sidewalks, curbs, ramps, gutters, patios, walkways, and water channels. Concrete can be stamped, colored and custom finished which offers many options for a touch of beauty to the finished product.

What is the average cost of a new paving job?

Of course, there are a lot of variables to factor in when estimating cost for paving, including the material (asphalt or  concrete), the area and its use (residential, commercial, industrial), and how much work is needed to either lay a new base or repair an existing one. Please contact us and we will provide you with a free estimate for your specific project.

Do you work at night to help minimize disruptions to my business?

We don’t typically work at night, but we take a proactive approach to minimize disruptions to your business. We schedule our projects to the day and hour, so you know exactly when your project will begin and end. We also notify anyone affected by the work, whether they are business owners, homeowners, or tenants. We also zone off the project area prior to beginning so stakeholders are not surprised the day work begins. We take pride in our customer service and ensuring that tenants and property owners have a positive experience and as little disruption as possible. GPM handles all types of phasing and traffic plans.

How soon does new asphalt typically need regular maintenance?

New asphalt takes between six months and a year to fully cure. It shouldn’t need maintenance before then, but if you happen to notice any cracks or damage, notify your asphalt provider immediately. Your asphalt should be sealed after it cures. After that, we recommend sealing your asphalt every three to five years. You should also inspect your pavement at least once a year for cracks, potholes, and other damage.

Paso Robles, nestled in the heart of California’s Central Coast, boasts a rich history that dates back thousands of years to when it was first inhabited by the Salinan Indians. The name “Paso Robles” translates to “Pass of the Oaks” in Spanish, reflecting the natural beauty that has long characterized this area. The city’s development kicked into gear in the 19th century, thanks to its mineral springs, which attracted visitors seeking the healing properties of its waters. The arrival of the Southern Pacific Railroad in the late 1800s further boosted Paso Robles’ growth, making it a key stop on the route between Los Angeles and San Francisco.

The 20th century saw Paso Robles evolve from a health resort to a hub for agriculture, wine production, and tourism. Today, it is renowned for its wineries, olive oil production, and almond orchards, contributing significantly to the local economy. The city’s history is preserved in its historic downtown, hot springs, and landmarks like the Paso Robles Inn and the Carnegie Library.
