Sectional Patching

Not all projects require complete reconstruction or an overlay. Sectional patching is often a reasonable solution to extend the life of your pavement

Full Depth Reclamation (FDR)

FDR involves taking the section requiring repair and pulverizing both the asphalt and its granular underlayment to produce a uniform, “stabilized base course” (SBC). FDR gives you a permanent fix (definitely not a “band aid”). Because it recycles existing material, it is considered one of the “greenest” techniques.

Mill & Fill

This consists of removing existing pavement with a milling machine to a depth of 1-2”, and then applying new asphalt mix.

Asphalt Removal & Replacement

Eventually, asphalt reaches the end of its life cycle. At that point the only realistic solution is to remove the existing pavement and replace it with new asphalt.

I highly recommend GPM for any paving work needed. We have utilized their services 2 times in 2 years. Once to replace parking lots and the 2nd time to do a seal coating project. I couldn’t be happier with the attention to detail, quality of service, professionalism and quality of work. The Sr. Project Manager kept on top of everything from initial contact to final follow-up. I will definitely be using GPM for future work within our community.

Working with GPM has been a pleasure. The professionalism in the job and preparation has made my job easier and the customers so satisfied. Thank you and thank you for standing behind your work always.

-Janice T.

GPM is a great company. I have worked with then on many projects as a Community Association Manager and they always get the job done. They are responsive and very detail oriented with their proposals. The jobs we have had done by GPM come out great and they do all the work of creating a flyer, notifying owners, setting up the cones ahead of time, etc. Not all pavement companies do that, which is why I try to use GPM as often as possible. Thanks again!

Asphalt Paving FAQs

What is the process in getting a paving quote from GPM?

It’s easy. Simply contact us through our website form and tell us about your potential paving project. We’ll get in touch and arrange an onsite visit to accurately assess your project. Your quote will include the cost of the project and an accurate timeframe for completion.

What asphalt mixture do you recommend for the Southern CA climate?

We use a variety of asphalt mix designs to best address every project needs. Hot mix asphalt is ideal for the warm California climate. We will assess which mix works best for your project, and also what type of aggregate will provide the best finished result. Larger aggregates like gravel are needed if the asphalt will be used by heavy commercial vehicles. Smaller aggregate presents a smoother look and is perfect for normal, everyday use.

How do you decide if asphalt or concrete works better?

Usually the type of project dictates whether we use asphalt or concrete. Asphalt is easier to install and usually costs less than concrete. It’s ideal for roads, parking lots, industrial properties, and multi-family or HOA units. However, concrete provides a stronger finished project than asphalt, so is often the best choice for heavy loads. Concrete is also preferred for sidewalks, curbs, ramps, gutters, patios, walkways, and water channels. Concrete can be stamped, colored and custom finished which offers many options for a touch of beauty to the finished product.

Do you work at night to help minimize disruptions to my business?

We don’t typically work at night, but we take a proactive approach to minimize disruptions to your business. We schedule our projects to the day and hour, so you know exactly when your project will begin and end. We also notify anyone affected by the work, whether they are business owners, homeowners, or tenants. We also zone off the project area prior to beginning so stakeholders are not surprised the day work begins. We take pride in our customer service and ensuring that tenants and property owners have a positive experience and as little disruption as possible. GPM handles all types of phasing and traffic plans.

Part of an 1846 Mexican land grant, San Fernando has deep ranching roots and was the first established city of the San Fernando Valley. Los Angeles now surrounds San Fernando, which is home to approximately 23,645 people.

The authors of the San Fernando city website reflect on their city by stating,

“The City of San Fernando is a community of attractive contrasts. What was once a land of farms and ranches adjoining the Mission de San Fernando Rey is now a vibrant center of manufacturing and commerce. San Fernando enjoys a sweeping view of the panoramic San Gabriel foothills and a sense of privacy, yet it is only minutes from downtown Los Angeles and only minutes away from other commercial activity centers, thanks to a network of freeways and nearby airports. The City combines modern metropolitan conveniences with a close-knit community of friendly, civic-minded residents. Moreover, San Fernando proudly offers responsive city services, good access to city government, a large labor pool, a lower business tax than Los Angeles, and no utility tax.”

A warm sunny climate and plenty of recreational activities add to the City’s drawing power. The weather is downright Mediterranean . . . . It’s no wonder, then, that many people are finding San Fernando an ideal place to live and work!
