Commercial Asphalt Paving Ventura CA 5

Sectional Patching

Not all projects require complete reconstruction or an overlay. Sectional patching is often a reasonable solution to extend the life of your pavement

Commercial Asphalt Paving Ventura CA 6

Full Depth Reclamation (FDR)

FDR involves taking the section requiring repair and pulverizing both the asphalt and its granular underlayment to produce a uniform, “stabilized base course” (SBC). FDR gives you a permanent fix (definitely not a “band aid”). Because it recycles existing material, it is considered one of the “greenest” techniques.

Commercial Asphalt Paving Ventura CA 7

Mill & Fill

This consists of removing existing pavement with a milling machine to a depth of 1-2”, and then applying new asphalt mix.

Commercial Asphalt Paving Ventura CA 8

Asphalt Removal & Replacement

Eventually, asphalt reaches the end of its life cycle. At that point the only realistic solution is to remove the existing pavement and replace it with new asphalt.

Say goodbye to stressing about paved areas when you work with GPM. Our asphalt team has the expertise to understand your needs and recommend a practical repair or installation plan that fits your budget.

GPM is a great company. I have worked with Gabe Medina on many projects as a Community Association Manager and he always gets the job done. He is responsive and very detail oriented with his proposals. The jobs we have had done by GPM come out great and they do all the work of creating a flyer, notifying owners, setting up the cones ahead of time, etc. Not all pavement companies do that, which is why I try to use GPM as often as possible. Thanks again!

They re-stripped our parking lot exactly as we had sketched and it looks great.

Asphalt Paving FAQs

What is the average cost of a new paving job?

Of course, there are a lot of variables to factor in when estimating cost for paving, including the material (asphalt or  concrete), the area and its use (residential, commercial, industrial), and how much work is needed to either lay a new base or repair an existing one. Please contact us and we will provide you with a free estimate for your specific project.

What asphalt mixture do you recommend for the Southern California climate?

We use a variety of asphalt mix designs to best address every project needs. Hot mix asphalt is ideal for the warm California climate. We will assess which mix works best for your project, and also what type of aggregate will provide the best finished result. Larger aggregates like gravel are needed if the asphalt will be used by heavy commercial vehicles. Smaller aggregate presents a smoother look and is perfect for normal, everyday use.

How do you decide if asphalt or concrete works better?

Usually the type of project dictates whether we use asphalt or concrete. Asphalt is easier to install and usually costs less than concrete. It’s ideal for roads, parking lots, industrial properties, and multi-family or HOA units. However, concrete provides a stronger finished project than asphalt, so is often the best choice for heavy loads. Concrete is also preferred for sidewalks, curbs, ramps, gutters, patios, walkways, and water channels. Concrete can be stamped, colored and custom finished which offers many options for a touch of beauty to the finished product.

My asphalt is starting to crack - do I need to replace all of it?

No, but cracking is serious because it can quickly spread and cause more damage. If you see cracks, call us immediately. We will crack seal the asphalt if damage is minimal, or we may patch the asphalt if it is more extensive. The sooner cracks are fixed, the less damage they cause and the less it will cost to repair the asphalt.

Formerly known as San Buenaventura, Ventura is a city on the Central Coast of California and the county seat of Ventura County. It hosts fabulous beaches, resorts, and historic landmarks, which make it a popular tourist destination.

The Spanish founded Ventura in 1782 when Saint Junipero Serra established the Mission San Buenaventura in the area. Later, following the Mexican secularization of the California missions, San Buenaventura was granted to Don Jose de Arnaz by Governor Pio Pico. A community soon arose from the little mission. After the American conquest of California, San Buenaventura became an incorporated city in 1866. The city boomed later, when the 1920s brought an oil boom along with post-WWII economic expansion.

The city of Ventura has been thriving ever since! Today it covers a total of 32.29 square miles of land and is home to about 110,763 people. Every year numerous tourists come to experience the cities beautiful beaches, resorts, and landmarks.

The Ventura homepage describes the town today like this:

Today, the City of Ventura is a full-service municipality serving 109,000 residents within the 32 square mile city limits.  Nearly 600 staff members focus on delivering key services to our businesses, residents and visitors to ensure Ventura remains a fiscally stable, economically vibrant, safe, clean and desirable community.
